ST HELIER AFTER DARK
Glow & Go takes Trail Monkey into St Helier for a different kind of race night. Run a waterfront course after dark, finish back in Trenton Square and stay for the music.
A night run through St Helier's Waterfront and harbour-side areas. Two laps make up the 5k course.
The Boom Bike joins the route, bringing music and atmosphere out onto the course.
A DJ setup in Trenton Square creates the atmosphere before the start and as runners return.
Every runner receives a glow item with entry. Add more lights, dress up and make yourself visible.

The course will be signed with marshals positioned at key points.
Music before the start and as runners return to Trenton Square, with a warm-up around 15 minutes before the race.

Once Glow & Go finishes at Trenton Square, the night continues at Bond Street Social with a free official after party. The neon stays on, the 90s classics come out, and Wottonski and PaulB keep things going into the night.

A compact evening run built around atmosphere rather than distance or elevation. Run hard, jog with friends or simply come and enjoy something different on a Saturday night.
Glow & Go is Trail Monkey after dark — a shorter night run through the Waterfront, with music, lights and a completely different feel.
Glow gear, bright colours and illuminated accessories are encouraged. Anything worn must still be safe to run in and must not create a hazard for other runners.
The event is intentionally small, with approximately 150 places available.

Glow & Go is designed as an evening out, not just a race where everyone disappears afterwards.
Exact timings are being finalised. Full race information, emergency contact details and any weather-related updates will be sent to entrants before event night.
The glowing bit
Every runner receives a glow item with entry. Additional Glow & Go packs will also be available.
One battery-powered glow item with every entry.
Optional glow packs will be available separately.
Neon clothing and safe illuminated accessories are welcome.
Nothing loose, trailing, excessively bright or likely to interfere with another runner.
Running after dark
Glow accessories create atmosphere, but you still need to be able to see, be seen and run safely after dark.

Sharing the Waterfront
Glow & Go takes place in public areas of the Waterfront which remain open during the event.
Runners do not have priority over other Waterfront users. Give pedestrians space and be considerate.
Follow signs and marshal instructions, especially around crossings, junctions and busier areas.
Carry a charged phone and save the race-day contact information sent before the event.
Parts of the route run alongside harbour and Waterfront areas. Stay on the marked route and keep clear of exposed water edges.
When the running stops
Stay around the finish area while runners return and enjoy the music before heading into town.
Finish under the lights and collect your Glow & Go medal.
No disappearing into a remote car park. The finish is right in St Helier.
After Glow & Go finishes at Trenton Square, the official free after party continues separately at Bond Street Social with DJs and music until 1am. Bond Street is an existing licensed venue and its normal admission rules apply.

A town-centre start makes getting to Glow & Go simple.
Liberation Station is within walking distance.
The Waterfront is easy to reach from central St Helier.

Public parking options are available around St Helier. Please allow enough time to park and walk to registration.

Yes. Every runner must carry a working head torch or suitable running light. Glow items are for atmosphere and visibility and are not a replacement for being able to properly see the route.
No specialist trail shoes are required. Wear suitable running shoes for the conditions on the night.

Yes. Parts of the course follow St Helier's harbour and Waterfront, so there are sections close to open water. Stay on the marked route, follow marshal instructions and take particular care around harbour-side areas.
We strongly recommend running without headphones. Glow & Go takes place after dark in a shared public Waterfront area and runners need to be able to hear marshals, other runners and surrounding activity throughout the course.
The event will go ahead in normal autumn weather, but conditions will be monitored before and during the evening. If strong winds, severe weather or another safety issue makes the event unsafe, the route may be changed, the start delayed or the event stopped.
If an incident means the run cannot safely continue, marshals and the Trail Monkey team will give runners instructions on course. This may mean stopping at a marshal point, returning to Trenton Square or following an alternative route. Please follow marshal instructions immediately.
If somebody needs help, stop somewhere safe and alert the nearest marshal or contact the race-day number provided in the final race information. For a serious or life-threatening emergency, call 999 first.
Move to a safe position and speak to the nearest marshal where possible. If you leave the event early, please make sure the Trail Monkey team knows so that we are not looking for you unnecessarily.
Yes. Friends and family are welcome to enjoy the atmosphere at Trenton Square. Please remember that it remains a public space and follow any directions from the Trail Monkey team.
Please speak to a Trail Monkey volunteer or member of the event team. We have procedures in place for lost children and vulnerable people and will involve the appropriate services where necessary.
