Quick answers

Glow & Go FAQs

When is Glow & Go?

Saturday 31 October 2026 at St Helier Waterfront. The run is currently scheduled to start at 7:15pm.

Where does it start and finish?

Both the start and finish are at Trenton Square on the St Helier Waterfront.

How much is entry?

Entry is £20 and includes your race entry, glow item and finisher medal.

How far is the race?

Glow & Go is a 5k waterfront night run made up of two laps.

Do I need a head torch?

Yes. Every runner must carry a working head torch or suitable running light. Glow items are for atmosphere and visibility and are not a replacement for being able to properly see the route.

Do I need trail shoes?

No specialist trail shoes are required. Wear suitable running shoes for the conditions on the night.

Do I have to dress up?

No. Neon clothing, lights and glow accessories are encouraged, but anything you wear must be safe to run in and must not create a hazard for you or other runners.

Can I buy extra glow gear?

Yes. Additional Glow & Go packs will be available separately. More details will be announced before the event.

Will there be music?

Yes. DJs and amplified music will create the atmosphere at Trenton Square before and after the run, with music also planned at selected points around the course.

Will alcohol be available at Trenton Square?

No. Glow & Go itself is a running event and Trail Monkey will not operate a licensed bar at Trenton Square.

Can I drink before the run?

Glow & Go is a night running event and runners need to be fit and safe to take part. Anyone who appears intoxicated or otherwise unfit to run may not be allowed to start.

Is there an after party?

Yes. Once Glow & Go finishes at Trenton Square, the official free after party continues separately at Bond Street Social with Wottonski and PaulB. Bond Street is an existing licensed venue and its normal admission rules apply.

Is Bond Street part of the race venue?

No. Glow & Go starts and finishes at Trenton Square. The after party then takes place separately at Bond Street Social.

Is the Waterfront closed for the event?

No. Glow & Go takes place in public areas of the Waterfront which remain open to pedestrians and other users. Runners must give others space, stay aware of their surroundings and follow marshal instructions.

Does the route run close to open water?

Yes. Parts of the course follow St Helier's harbour and Waterfront, so there are sections close to open water. Stay on the marked route, follow marshal instructions and take particular care around harbour-side areas.

Can I run with headphones?

We strongly recommend running without headphones. Glow & Go takes place after dark in a shared public Waterfront area and runners need to be able to hear marshals, other runners and surrounding activity throughout the course.

What happens if the weather is bad?

The event will go ahead in normal autumn weather, but conditions will be monitored before and during the evening. If strong winds, severe weather or another safety issue makes the event unsafe, the route may be changed, the start delayed or the event stopped.

What happens if the event has to be stopped after we start?

If an incident means the run cannot safely continue, marshals and the Trail Monkey team will give runners instructions on course. This may mean stopping at a marshal point, returning to Trenton Square or following an alternative route. Please follow marshal instructions immediately.

What should I do if I see an incident on the course?

If somebody needs help, stop somewhere safe and alert the nearest marshal or contact the race-day number provided in the final race information. For a serious or life-threatening emergency, call 999 first.

What if I become unwell or need to stop?

Move to a safe position and speak to the nearest marshal where possible. If you leave the event early, please make sure the Trail Monkey team knows so that we are not looking for you unnecessarily.

Can friends and family come to Trenton Square?

Yes. Friends and family are welcome to enjoy the atmosphere at Trenton Square. Please remember that it remains a public space and follow any directions from the Trail Monkey team.

What should I do if a child or vulnerable person appears lost or in difficulty?

Please speak to a Trail Monkey volunteer or member of the event team. We have procedures in place for lost children and vulnerable people and will involve the appropriate services where necessary.

Will I receive full race instructions before the event?

Yes. Final race information will be sent to entrants before event night and will include registration details, final timings, safety information, race-day contact details and any weather-related updates.

What if I withdraw?

Please see the Trail Monkey terms and conditions .
