Trail running with Trail Monkey is friendly, well-marked, and welcoming. If you can jog a parkrun or enjoy a brisk walk, you can do our trails.

Myth: “It’s only for elites.”

Fact: Most of our runners are everyday people. Walk the hills, jog the flats, smile for the photos, job done.

Myth: “I’ll get lost.”

Fact: Courses are fully marked with clear signage and friendly marshals. GPX files are provided as a backup.

Myth: “I’m not fast enough.”

Fact: Inclusive cut-offs and supportive vibes. Hiking the steeper bits is normal, even for fast folks.

Am I “fit enough” for a Trail Monkey race?
If you can comfortably complete a 5k jog or a brisk 60-minute walk, our 5–10k events are perfect. Work up to the half marathons; ultras come later. We’ll cheer you on at every step.
Will I get lost on the course?
Courses are fully marked with signs/flags and supported by friendly marshals. We also share a GPX a few days before as a belt-and-braces backup.
What kit do I need?
For 5–10k: trail shoes, weather-appropriate layers, and a small bottle if you like. For halves/ultras: check the race brief; we’ll list any mandatory items based on conditions.
How tough are the cut-offs?
We set inclusive cut-offs so steady runners and brisk hikers can finish safely. The exact timings are in each event page; ask us if you’re unsure and we’ll advise.
Can I walk the hills?
Absolutely. Hiking the climbs is standard trail craft. Save energy for the runnable sections and the finish-line smile.
What about weather and safety?
Jersey’s coast can change quickly. We monitor conditions and adjust plans if needed. Courses are marshalled, first aid is on hand, and you’ll get a pre-race briefing.
Are there toilets, water or snacks?
Check each race page for aid details. There’s always a warm welcome at the finish, often with the famous tea & cake.
I’m coming alone, will I fit in?
100%. Our community is friendly and supportive. Many runners turn up solo and leave with new trail mates.

Try a 5k or 10k in our Autumn Trail Series or the Winter Trail Series. They’re ideal first steps.
