01 · Half Marathon
The full Best of the West: Ouaisne, Corbière, the Railway Walk, St Aubin, Ghost Hill, Portelet and Noirmont.
Rocky, muddy and potentially slippery coastal trail with steep steps, climbs and descents.
Do not compare it with a flat road Half. Walking steeper climbs is normal; arrive experienced off-road and comfortable covering the distance.
Carry enough food and fluid between simple support points. Water, Coke and treats are provided, with refreshments at the finish.
02 · 10k
A shorter coastal loop from Ouaisne—scenic, runnable and punctuated by enough proper climbs to earn the finish.
Uneven trail, climbs and descents. Shorter than the Half, but not a flat road 10k moved onto a coastal path.
A strong option if you already cover 10k comfortably and want to step into longer or more technical trail racing.
Join the Half Marathon runners at Ouaisne Bay for the same supportive Trail Monkey finish.
Race day
Both races leave Ouaisne Bay at 18:00 and return to the same finish. Arrive early for registration, kit checks and briefing.
Arrive early enough to register, complete any kit check and attend the briefing. Final weather or course changes are sent to entrants before the event.
Getting to the start
Parking is limited. The planned 17:20 number 12A bus, lift-sharing or a pre-booked taxi will usually be easier.
Get dropped at your start and collected from Ouaisne Bay.
Use the Trail Monkey Facebook group to share a taxi or lift.
Specify Ouaisne Bay for the Half or Ouaisne Bay for the 10k.
Sunday timetables change; verify LibertyBus nearer race weekend.
Know how you will leave Ouaisne Bay before you start.
Visiting Jersey
Arrive before Friday evening and turn the race into a full Jersey weekend.
Jersey Airport ↗Useful if bringing a car; Check the July sailing schedule before booking
Ferry information ↗St Helier is usually simplest without a car, with the widest choice of hotels, food and taxis.
Pre-book a taxi, use the 12A bus or share a lift to Ouaisne.
Arrive, race at 18:00 and start the weekend beside Ouaisne Bay.
Recover and explore Jersey’s west coast without a post-race rush.
Make the most of Jersey before travelling home.
All distances
Mandatory kit is there to keep you safe if you become injured, cold, delayed or unable to continue.
