What if my race gets cancelled due to COVID restrictions?

What if a race in a race series gets cancelled due to COVID restrictions?

The race will be put on on a date when we are in adherence to the guidelines as laid out by the States of Jersey Health Dept. We will ensure that in races series such as the Canaccord Cup that we will condense the program of races to accommodate the whole series of races so that it may be that we do a race every 3 weeks rather than monthly for example. rescheduled dates will be communicated in this instance. We will automatically roll over your race entry to this newly rescheduled race. Please see our refund policy here

What if I am unable to travel to Jersey due to COVID restrictions?

We will always endeavour to work with you to ensure that you get the race you paid for. If you are unable to travel and you let us know more than 4 weeks before the race start we will defer your race entry to the next edition of the race for no charge. Please see our full refund policy here

Can I sign up on the day?

There will not be any sign ups at the event. Please sign up online ahead of the event.

Will I need to wear PPE?

PPE will not be compulsory however you may wish to wear it to the event and before and after the race. All staff within the event will be issued with PPE.

If I have had COVID-19 symptoms can I still come?

If you have had symptoms or been in contact with somebody with coronavirus in the last 14 days then please refrain from attending the event to protect yourself and others.

Will we still get medals?

Yes, they will be available for you to collect yourself at the finish.

Can my friends and family come to watch?

We ask that you do not bring spectators to the event with you to help limit the number of people at the venue.

What do I do if I develop Coronavirus symptoms after the event?

If you develop any symptoms during or after the event please follow the below steps set out by the NHS:

  1. isolate: as soon as you experience coronavirus symptoms, medical advice is clear: you must self-isolate for at least 10 days. Anyone else in your household must self-isolate for 14 days from when you started having symptoms

  2. test: order a test immediately at www.nhs.uk/coronavirus or call 119 if you have no internet access

  3. results: if your test is positive, you must complete the remainder of your 10-day self-isolation. Anyone in your household must also complete self-isolation for 14 days from when you started having symptoms. If your test is negative, you and other household members no longer need to self-isolate

  4. share contacts: if you test positive for coronavirus, the NHS test and trace service will send you a text or email alert or call you with instructions of how to share details of people with whom you have had close, recent contact and places you have visited. It is important that you respond as soon as possible so that we can give appropriate advice to those who need it. You will be told to do this online via a secure website or you will be called by one of our contract tracers.

When asked by Track and Trace who you have been in contact with please give the email address paul@trailmonkeyjersey.com so that they can notify our team and consequently any runners who may have been affected at the event.
