Once you cross the finish line, join your fellow runners for a lively post-race gathering, where you can share your experiences, make new friends, and revel in the camaraderie.

Don’t Miss Out!

Spaces for the Monkey Derby Sundown Trail Race are limited, so be sure to register early to secure your spot in this extraordinary event. Embrace the challenge, soak in the stunning scenery, and become part of the unforgettable atmosphere on June 30th. We can’t wait to see you at the starting line!

The Race

The race takes place at dusk and into the night, making head-torches a requirement for all participants. Additionally, proper trail shoes are essential due to the technical off-road trails. To help guide you, the course will be marked with clear signage and reflective arrows, enhancing this one-of-a-kind running adventure!

When you sign up for the race, your entry includes a race number, water, expert race organization, and a selection of light snacks and soft drinks at the finish line. As a token of your accomplishment, each participant will receive a commemorative race T-shirt and a finishers medal specific to their chosen distance.

What To Expect & Useful Event Info

New to Trail Races or Night Races?

We understand that participating in a trail race or night race for the first time can be quite intimidating. That’s why Trail Monkey is dedicated to creating a fun, inclusive, and welcoming environment for runners of all abilities, speeds, and backgrounds. Trail running is enjoyable, beneficial for your mental and physical health, and our community is a warm and friendly group of people. We look forward to having you join us on the trails – just come with a smile, a pair of trail shoes, an open mind, and a head torch for this event! To get a glimpse of what our night races look like, check out these links to our previous night events:

Environment

We’re privileged to host these events and strive to “leave no trace.” Please dispose of any gel wrappers, water bottles, or snack packaging responsibly, or hold onto them until a bin is available. Be considerate of others using the pathways – give them right of way and greet everyone warmly, showcasing the kind spirit of the running community.

Parking

Parking is available near the race start at Les Landes & Grosnez. Although we have access to the race course, there are no parking facilities there. We kindly ask runners to park considerately, responsibly, and carpool when possible to minimize the impact on other users of the car park. Please note that parking is at the car owner’s risk, and we are not responsible for any loss or damage to vehicles in public car parks.

Event HQ

The event headquarters will be located at the start and finish point of Les Landes Race Course, where we’re fortunate to have access to toilet facilities for the race!

The Course (Marking and Hazards)

The course will be marshalled, and reflective strips will be placed along the route to guide runners. This course has a few hazards, including slippery paths, protruding rocks and roots, and muddy trails. Trail shoes are mandatory for this race, as not wearing them increases the risk of falls or injuries. Head torches are also required, as the race takes place at night.

Race numbers will be issued at check-in (date and time to be confirmed), and must be worn on the front of your body, visible at all times, so we can accurately record your result.

Results

Event results will be posted on our Facebook page within 48 hours of the race’s conclusion and emailed to all participants as well.
