Race Overview

Are you ready to push your limits? The 20-Mile Race at the Jersey Festival of Trail Running is not for the faint-hearted. Taking place on May 4th, 2024, this race is a true test of your endurance and navigational skills.

Course and Navigation

This race is a unique adventure that may slightly exceed the 20-mile mark. We’ve marked crucial decision points to guide you, but don’t expect a sign at every turn—that’s part of the thrill! If you’re new to the course or not a local, downloading the provided GPX file to your GPS device is strongly advised. Remember, keep the sea on your left on your way out and on your right on your way back to stay on course.

Aid Stations and Nutrition

While we provide water and basic snacks at aid stations roughly 7 miles apart, these are meant to supplement your own supplies. Please carry enough water and food to sustain you between these points. Note that we operate a cupless race, so bring your own reusable cup for drinks.

Mandatory Kit List

  • Trail Shoes: Required for grip on slippery trails
  • Sun Hat and Sunscreen: May can get hot!
  • Water Container: At least 1 litre
  • Reusable Cup: For drinks at aid stations
  • Calories: Enough to last between checkpoints
  • Charged Phone: With emergency contact and What3words app
  • Spare Layer: For unpredictable weather
  • Drop Bag: For additional nutritional needs at the halfway point

Safety Measures

Random kit checks will be conducted. Failure to carry these items will result in a delayed start until you can produce them. For those with medical conditions, mark a Red Cross on your race number and list your conditions and an ICE contact on the back.

Travel and Accommodation

Jersey is easily accessible from major UK airports, with multiple airlines offering reasonable fares if booked in advance. Accommodation options are plentiful in St Helier, including the Premier Inn. For public transport and taxi information, check out the local bus timetables and our list of taxi firms. Limited parking is available at the starting areas, so consider car-sharing through the Trail Monkey Jersey Facebook  group.
