  • Flat, fast and confidence-boosting.
  • Cliff path and open sections, usually very runnable.
  • Great first-timer option, also great for a proper race effort.

New to Trail Running?

Trail Monkey events welcome runners of all abilities. No cut-offs, no pressure, just the freedom of the trails and a finish line cup of tea (and cake!). I know it can seem intimidating to come and try one of these races if you have never run on the trails or have taken part in races. I remember myself what it felt like to take part in races where I felt out of place. Trail Monkey events attract a wide range of running abilities and age groups and the main ethos is to enjoy the run. We are not super competitive, we do not have time limits on the races and every runner will get their finish line moment. We also serve tea and cake at the end of these races.

If you have any queries or concerns please do get in touch, happy to advise on trail running gear etc.

The Course & Hazards

  • 👟 Trail shoes required (mud, rocks, slippery paths)
  • ⚠️ Cliff paths and roots, take care
  • 🚧 Road sections, follow marshal directions
  • 🔄 Arrows and barrier tape mark the route

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I really need trail shoes?

Yes. The north coast is rocky and slippery. Trail shoes are essential for safety.

How will I know which way to go?

Look for black arrows on yellow signs, red and white tape, and marshals. Confidence markers reassure you are on the right path.

What about the environment?

Please leave no trace. Take your litter with you and be courteous to other path users.

Where can I park?

Parking is available near start points. Please park responsibly and car share where possible.
